Thermal burns are injuries caused by contact with heat sources such as flames, hot liquids, or hot objects. They can range from minor to severe.

**What are Thermal Burns?**

## First Aid for Thermal Burns

1. Cool the Burn: Run cool (not cold) water over the burn for at least 10 minutes.
2. Cover the Burn: Use a sterile dressing or clean cloth. Avoid using creams or ointments.
3. Do Not Break Blisters: Blisters protect underlying skin and breaking them can increase the risk of infection.
4. Seek Medical Help: For burns that are large, deep, or located on the face, hands, feet, or genitals, call emergency services.
